I Just Got Rocked, Much Like a Hurricane

I just finished participating in the Guitar Hero III bracket of the Fragolympics Summer 2008. Twelve gaming communities were invited to participate in the event which spans six weeks and includes four different games with various competitions within each one. My community showed incredibly bad judgment by selecting yours truly to wield the not so lethal plastic guitar shaped controller. It was a weapon of destruction for my opponent but not so much for me unfortunately.
Our round was played on medium difficulty with each of us selecting two songs and then also playing one random predetermined song. I actually went temporarily blind this morning and was forced to play the songs by memory so taking that into consideration, I really didn’t do too bad. Ok, so maybe that’s a lie but I did go outside for a bit and look directly at the sun so I really couldn’t see that well. Ok, that’s a lie too but whatever. If you would like to see me go down in a blaze filled with absolutely no glory, I screen capped the entire experience for your sadistic pleasure. We didn’t have our mics plugged in so while there wasn’t any actual communication, I took the liberty of adding what I thought my opponent was thinking. Seriously, what a jerk.
I would like to take a moment to tell everybody that once I was at a bar and I participated in a Guitar Hero competition and I totally won. I even got a t-shirt. Yup. I am now going to go find that t-shirt, play Rock You Like a Hurricane at an ear-shattering volume, and sob hysterically until I feel better. If nobody hears from me the next few days, feel free to send out a search party. Just make sure they have plenty of tissues.

I know he’s nice. I sent him a good game message immediately after playing, and also sent him an email thanking him for the games and wishing him luck in the remainder of the tournament. :)
I think some of the humor perhaps got lost in translation. The jerk comment was supposed to be funny because I said we didn’t talk while we played, so those comments were made by me, not him. Could just be I thought it was funny when it really wasn’t, much like every other article on my blog. LOL, … See? I just did it again.
You did great, it was insanely close the whole match. But I had my secret weapon, Star power paths :)

I was proud of how I did for one of the songs you selected (Impulse). I haven’t played that song before (I’m assuming it’s a purchased one from the store?) so I went in completely blind on that. I was just happy as a clam that I 100%-ed it!
You did great and definitely deserved the win. I peeked at your achievements after our match and saw that you have completed Through the Fire and Flames on Expert and also five starred everything on Expert as well. I bow down to your GH superiority. :)
Ahh poor BS Angel. Look at the bright side, Next up is Halo 3! Surely you will be better at that xD. Also I just borrowed GH On Tourette from my work…. I’ve been forumfrolicking and playing duelmode ever since. I so want to play I’m not your gameboy!

I just got my ass handed to me by MCmaniacDBR. He didn’t miss a single note the entire match. He may have captured it to, so the next GH video out you see might be Locke getting pwndizzled.
Not only was he a great player, he was SO cool afterward. We played a Co-Op match to wash off the beating he gave me.
All in all, awesome experience.

It’s not whether you win or lose (even tho winning IS better), truly it is getting to play the game. I wish everyone would play and lose with such dignity, you BOTH rock!
