Who Wants 100 Sci-Fi and Horror DVDs?
July 12, 2008 8 Comments

Have you ever watched a movie so incredibly scary that you couldn’t even go to the bathroom by yourself afterwards? It just doesn’t get much better than that in my opinion. I love things that literally scare the crap out of me and if you do too, you’ll want to enter the Dead Space Team’s Top 100 DVD Sweeps. They are currently running a contest where you can win 100 DVDs that their development team used in their exhaustive research of the Sci-Fi and Horror genre. From 28 Days Later to Hostel to Pan’s Labyrinth to The Exorcist, there are more than enough classic and current generation movies for you to need a permanent bathroom buddy from here on out. Check out the complete list of DVDs they are giving away after the jump, then head on over and enter. Or not, because then I have more of a chance to win. w00t!

I’ve seen 19 of those, but most of them were more on the sci-fi end of the spectrum. I’m not a fan of horror, and what you said about loving things that scare the crap out of you doesn’t make sense to me.
Ever since I started watching movies, I could never understand why people enjoyed movies that would literally give them nightmares. They know it’s going to scare them, but they watch it anyway?
Sorry, but I’ll take a nice comedy any day. Looks like one more chance for you to win angel ;)
Seeing as you like horror/scary things Hawty, I was wondering if you watch the tv series Supernatural? Sorta like a weekly horror movie.
I suffer from a disease that affects my perception of emotions. To keep it simple I hardly get scared and since this is the appeal of horror movies I don’t like them. My girlfriend on the other hand loves to watch horror movies…. So I entered in the hopes to give her a grand gift.
I’m sure she appreciates the effort Soulofaqua. :)
I haven’t heard of the series Supernatural newguy2445. What channel does it run on?
And while I love horror and gore AusQB, I don’t watch the ones that would give me nightmares. I like my horror movies just like I like my video games, with no resemblance of real life.
I feel reluctant to win only because she probably wants me to go see every single movie. Though I would not mind watching certain movies like Aliens, Predators, 2001: A space odyssey, Pan’s Labyrinth, Pitch Black. The movies with a bit more action than horror or like Pan’s Labyrinth a bloody beautiful script.
Supernatural broadcasts on the CW in America. I think it might be the type of show you would possibly like. In general it’s about two brothers who hunt down demons and the supernatural. But there is quite abit more to the plot then that. And it has its mix of humour and emotion. If you do check it out via the 1st season, it doesn’t get ‘rolling’ until about 6 episodes or so in.
Oh…My…God! What a list! I’m sorry angel but, even though I already own about half of these on DVD, I’m going to have to enter and steal the win from you. I could do without a few of the modern titles, though, such as the ‘Saw Trilogy’ and ‘House of 1000 Corpses’. Everyone has to draw the line somewhere.
Sweet! I love those movies. When you win, you can just ship those titles off to me. :)
