The gaming hills are alive with the sound of speculation coming from rumor mills nestled deep within the gaming community. A super secretive source is claiming that the next Halo title will be revealed at E3 but probably won’t feature our favorite seven foot tall Spartan. With Bungie teasing an announcement of sorts on July 14th, everybody has a theory. I, personally, am putting my money on Human Pach1nko Parlor. Imagine if you could launch Grunts that after falling their way through a complicated system of pegs would then burst into a massive multicolored confetti-filled explosion. You know you want it. It’s ok, I want it too. Keep your fingers crossed for next week. Pachinko ftw!

I would love a copy of this Halo Pachinko game. Look at how much fun it is, Chief, hapless marines, 300 point explosions. What more could you want?

Perhaps this Pachinko machine of Bungie lore is part of their mysterious plans for world domination?
UNBELIEVER! In the Pachinko machine with you!

There’s very little doubt in my mind that the next Halo game will have a large, if not complete, focus on Marines and/or ODSTs.
In the future, I would love to see a game from the perspective of the Sangheili, possibly during the Sangheili-San ‘Shyuum War.

I think the new game will be similar to the Sims, in which you control the daily life of a Spartan after the war. Try to find him a job, pick out his living room decor, and help him look for that special lady spartan.

I am betting the next game is set before the human/covenant war, and focuses on the war on Earth between the rebels and the UNSC forces… a Prequel to Halo 1?
I do remember seeing the video for that human pachinko game, and loved it! =D

Wouldn’t this be more info on Halo Wars?

@ Snorkle – Halo Wars is being developed by a different studio.

Cozmo, I would totally play that game. Especially the pick out his living room decor. Now where should I put that big clunky collector’s helmet, … hhhmmm …

No worries, it’s all good. :)

I’m going to go out on a limb and say this announcement is going to be a whole new IP. No Halo, no Marathon . . . With Bungie’s departure from Microsoft, I think they’re ready to show that they’re not a one-trick-pony. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an AWESOME trick . . . but I think the writers and developers are itching to explore some new characters.

No MC? But isn’t he floating around out there somewhere waiting to be rescued or thawed out? Anyway, whatever is on the horizon for Bungie, I hope it’s a FPS as fun to play as the Halo series has been in the past.

I agree with e house, but I also feel that Halo is one of the most popular and successful franchises in gaming history. It would make the most sense to continue to build upon that franchise, lest the community burn down the Bungie Towers after they release Gnop! 2.

Between the resurfacing of i<3Bees and a little leak on sarcastic gamer, not to mention the way 3 ends, I’d be willing to be the house we’re looking at a new Halo game.
The franchise is just too damn successful for them to not continue with it in soem capacity.
I also heard from somewhere that Bungie is looking to become a multi-title studio. So they’ll either stick to typical Bungie and just drop little morsels and let us chase them around the intarwebz, or they’ll kick the door in and say, “Sup. We got mad n3w titlez.” Eitherway, it can’t be bad.

I am gonna have to place my money on the pre-Halo human civil war idea. Being a Helljumper then would be AWESOME!
