I Lost That Loving Feeling

It’s probably about time for a free downloadable song to rock out to on our plastic guitar shaped controllers, don’t you think? Last time it was everybody’s favorite end credits song from Portal; this time around it’s the instrumental, guitar-heavy theme song from the classic movie Top Gun.
Top Gun was the first movie that I ever saw that had a real kiss. Not a closed-mouth kiss, not a quick peck on the lips, but a full on out “What is that weird thing they doing with their tongues?” sort of a kiss. I was at a young, impressionable age so that memorable scene had a lasting impression on me and led to an almost two decade long obsession with Tom Cruise. That obsession promptly came to an end when the world discovered what a nut job he was, but my love for that movie remains. That is why I practically started salivating when I heard the news that the “Top Gun Anthem” is going to be available as a free downloadable song for Guitar Hero III starting on July 3rd. In preparation for this I think I will go ahead and start searching for a wingman to my guitar. I’ll get right on that just as soon as I am done listening to this song for the hundredth time. It’s just awe inspiring, isn’t it?

Thats awesome I love Top Gun! Funny Story, my friend and I sang “Youve lost that loving feeling” to a random girl at a party a couple of weeks ago. Actually it was the same night we played at like 3 am ANGEL!
Now if they will only give us Dangerzone. That would be a Rock Band song to play.
Great movie, great song. Too bad I don’t have Guitar Hero.

Dangerzone would be so awesome if that came out for Rockband. When I used to play Battlefield 2 I had winamp paused on another computer just in case I was able to get in a jet so I could play that as I was trying not to crash into the ground.
Everyone knows the real star of Top Gun is either Val Kilmer or Anthony Edwards though. C’mon guys. Dr. Green and Batman are so much better than Lestat.
Okay. Maybe not Dr. Green but Batman for sure beats Lestat. Though Anthony Edwards was a super nerd in Revenge of the Nerds. So maybe he still wins.
If only they would have released Rock the 80s for the 360. Argh!
