Just Say No to a More Family Friendly Halo Game

Typically I ignore rumors, speculation, and unconfirmed things of that nature. This supposed excerpt from a marketing survey that was recently leaked to Kotaku is just too fun to pass up though. While it’s supposed to be an indication of possible directions Microsoft is considering taking the Halo series, to me it’s just an entertaining quiz of sorts. No, I don’t plan on getting Halo Wars Cozmo. I’m not into the RTS genre at all. And LEGO games rock!

That’s the point of an RTS.

    @bs angel

    Touché. ;)

  12. But thats what an RTS is…you play God…or well probably a General in this case.
I don’t think a First Person Strategy would work…unless it was set up similar to being a Monitor in Forge…but then you still aren’t really “playing”.

In any case I am looking forward to it!

I would buy a Halo Lego game.

  14. I’ve been screaming and shouting about a Lego Halo game for about three years now. If they make one, I’m taking credit.

Think about the Halo Trilogy. They open a “casket” with Master Chief in it. They have three games worth of adventures. They close a “casket” with Master Chief in it. There is absolutely NO reason why they couldn’t do that again, with a completely different adventure for the storyline.

I don’t think they need a more family friendly Halo. Once they dropped some of the language, the game was practically “T” rated anyway. Sorry, I know when I’m looking at an “M” game, and Halo, Oblivion and DOA aren’t it. I wouldn’t bat an eye at letting a teenager play any of those games.

Condemned, Kane & Lynch, GTA, Saints Row… THOSE are “M” rated games.

There is no way I would buy Halo Legos…

Hopefully everyone understand at least 1 of those statements.

  16. They need to make a Halo Squad based third person shooter game. Like ghost recon. That would ROCK. More cinematic elements.

  17. You know what would be really ballsy?

Offer to license the Halo IP to third parties.

Let UbiSoft make a squad based shoter.
Let Bethesda make an Oblivion-style RPG.
Let Turn10 make a Warthog racer.
Let Travelers Tales make a LEGO Halo game.

It would add some variety to the universe instead of limiting it to one mindgroup.

To be honest, I haven’t been following the specifics of Halo Wars. It isn’t coming out for the PC though? It seems like a PC friendly game, maybe even more so than a console friendly game.

And SpaceGhost2K, that’s pretty fascinating to think about. The options would simply be endless, and the various interpretations could be quite interesting.

I dunno, Halo Wars is looking really good, even if it is a console RPG. It is being developed by king of RTS’s, Ensemble Studios

… they’re not gonna let this die are they?

  22. Or… they could just leave Halo alone and not kill a good thing. Leave Halo to Bungie, please T.T.

I might buy another Halo game if it went more indepth into the story. Honestly that’s all I care about. That, and what the hell was with the Death Star after the credits in Halo 3. But I don’t want Microsoft to eff up.
