My Blinged Spore Grunt

Unless you live under a rock (please note there is nothing wrong with living under a rock, assuming you like murky and disgusting areas inhabited by a plethora of scurrying, repulsive bugs), you have probably heard of Spore, an upcoming multi-genre massively single-player online game expected to be released in early September. The gist of the game is that you create a creature and then nurture it “through five stages of evolution: Cell, Creature, Tribe, Civilization, and Space.” Available starting today are both a free trial version and the complete Spore Creature Creator (costing $9.95). I’ve spent the morning messing around with it and I am pleased to introduce you to my first creation. You may call him “Blinged Grunt“.

Yes, those are beautiful sparkling blue crystals in its breathing mask. Sure you could make an outlandish alien creature with googly eyes, suction cup feet, and pincers for arms. Of course you could make a beautiful pink unicorn with wings so it could soar above the clouds. Yes you could attempt to recreate all of your favorite video game creatures as accurately as possible. But you can bling them. And I just don’t think you need more of a reason than that to give the trial version a spin.

is that a darth vader helmet?
I have been trying to figure out what the heck your comment was referring to for the last couple of hours. After just glancing at the picture, I totally saw it! That is beyond hilarious. It does look like a Vader helmet, LOL!
Nicely done there.
i want to see it but something is wrong with photobucket for me so i can’t see anything from it
:(
*wishes to see bs angle’s awesome grunt*
I am powerless. I am downloading the Creature Creator right now.
Must…create…Cortana…and…Spartans…
Actually that’s a good point. Can you create creatures that even remotely resemble humans, or are all the body parts cartoonish in some way?
I think you could get decently close. (cough don’t click here cough)
That’s not half bad, considering it’s from the demo version which only gives you four heads. How do you change the body? I know how to manipulate the spine, but how do I change the width and everything?
Because I’ve been living under a rock(I prefer to keep mine as clean as possible though…), does the free trial have the creature generator? And if so, how much space does it take up? Sorry to bother, but as said, been living under that rock(360 went kaputt).
Available starting today are both a free trial version and the complete Spore Creature Creator (costing $9.95).
The Creature Creator is a stand-alone feature of the game (which will be released in 80 days apparently) which you can either purchase or try the demo version.
AusQB is right Sarge, the free trial is a smaller version of the complete Spore Creature Creator. I’m not sure what the system requirements are for it but I am running it on my laptop with no problems (minus a kinda slow coloring process).
Haha, I heard about this yesterday, and I wanted to make a Hunter.
Got a pretty badass grunt up here. Someone needs to make a Halo themed Spore Blog :P

Thanks, I’ll probably be downloading this tonight or tomorrow on my day off of work. Might buy the game when it comes out, seems awesome.
Nevermind about that, apparently I don’t have the graphics card to run the game.
Poo. Did you try it anyways to see if it would still run, just at a less optimal rate?
Keeps saying it won’t run. My graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce3 Ti 200, if I’m reading this right. Not finding it anywhere in the readme file for Spore.
That sucks. I unfortunately know less than nothing when it comes to the technical aspect of things. Here is the graphics part of their support center. Maybe there is something in there?
Lucky for you. My Graphics card is an Intel bogstandard. It’s integreted (though I have no idea what that means). My computer can’t even run Halo CE. It sucks.
