It’s not easy being a papercraft Master Chief, especially when you have bling around your visor, a pastel pink bow on your helmet, and you are smaller than usual since the person who made you didn’t realize you were supposed to rotate the image to make you larger (cough). The other action figures make fun of you because your armor is not as sturdy as theirs. They laugh at your pitiful minuscule size. They giggle at how girly you are (probably because they don’t realize you are in fact a girl). The land of the Spartan figures is a tough place to survive so when the always sweet Setters emailed me about the new Cubee Craft Halo accessory pack (1), I immediately grabbed my cardstock, scissors, glue, and crystals and prepared for some serious crafting. I figured having some weapons may help my adorable little paper Master Chief defend herself properly.
The Halo-themed weapon pack includes two plasma pistols, two magnums, one shotgun, one battle rifle, a gravity hammer, and two square block things that I am guessing are grenades. When I was done making all of them, my favorite by far was the toothbrush. It blings so much nicer than the other weapons. Plus it coordinates with her oh so fabulously. And we all know how important coordinating accessories are, right?

What I didn’t foresee was the war that immediately broke out amongst the action figures. One of my custom Master Chiefs got jealous and forcefully insisted on having the pistols so he could reminisce about the glorious days of Halo CE. Then Guitar Hero Spartan started boasting about how much better Guitar Hero was than Halo and adamantly refused to drop her blinged guitar shaped controller for any of the new weapons. That upset custom Master Chief so much that he dropped his pistols, picked up a shotgun, and forced Guitar Hero Spartan to play the Halo theme song at gunpoint. Seriously, the drama astounds me. If you decide to make these weapons (it’s really quite easy and you can use them for lots of stuff, I almost made a mobile out of mine), hopefully things will go a bit better for you than it did me. Excuse me while I go try to make peace.

Nice toothbrush!
I remember you wondering what the hell it was the first time you saw it in MM
It’s tough being a Spartan sometimes, even the ones made of paper…
A very nice story, it makes me laugh.
I cardstock good to use in making paper craft? I tried using paper buts its too flimsy.
Definitely use something thicker like cardstock. It makes a world of difference.
You are a NUT. Neato, but a nut. And artistically talented.
Lol nice story. By the way, do you make halo armor by chance? Seeing how you have cardstock at the go, I thought you might also do some pepakura. Just asking.
Heh, somebody has a little too much free time.
It’s horrible, isn’t it? Once the toys come out, it’s all over.
Eggfooyoung, I love papercrafting but I have never ventured into making armor. I have thought about it before, but it’s a fairly intimidating prospect. Maybe one day I’ll get brave enough to try a helmet.
=)
I havent had a chance to try out the new Cubee weapon pack yet, though I think the hammer and shotgun will be my first. =D
p.s. the “grenades” are extra hands with slits in them so that your Spartan or Spartaness can hold his/her new weapons. =P
oh no - it looks like trouble in paradise!! Infighting is never attractive.
I haven’t made my figures yet & I have all 3 colours (red, blue & regular) but my hubbie’s away this weekend so I can see a spot of crafting coming up in the xbox breaks
Wait…Where are the “two square block things”? Are you talking about the two block in the bottom right corner?
Those aren’t grenades, those are “modded” chief hands, with slots in them so he can hold the guns. That way, you don’t have to lean the Grav Hammer up against the poor Chief’s head! He can actually hold it.
It sure would be nice if I could figure out that stuff on my own, eh? That would have come in handy yesterday as I was trying to prop all the weapons up. Argh!
Lol yeah…Did you get those Multiplayer ones?
I made those, and gave a green one to my friend.
I still have to make the weapons, but when I do, they will be posed next to my Game Fuel cans and Slurpee cups!!!
Well, if you need any assistance, just go to:

and they will help you out. They have for me, and I’ve made about three card stock, full size helmets. Wearable also. Pepakura is easy. All you do is get the template, resize (scale) to correct size, then print, cut, and glue and volia.
