When I first saw the Xbox 360 Halo 3 Special Edition Console that was released late last year, I couldn’t help but notice its very obvious unattractive appearance. It claims to feature the colors “Spartan green and gold”, but apparently their version of gold is a horrendously ugly brassy orange. Kroden35 very clearly does not share my opinion as he decided to make even more coordinating accessories for it beyond the matching controller, headset, and hard drive it already comes with. By the way, if you recognize that gamertag it’s because he is the person behind the Halo 3 3D videos. Guess what though? In this case you don’t even have to cross your eyes to appreciate his work.
His project included taking apart one keyboard and two controllers in order to airbrush everything green and then paint the specific designs on them. After applying a clear coat to the dried paint, he reassembled each piece and now has three more accessories that coordinate spectacularly with his Halo 3 console.
Not bad for one afternoon’s worth of work, eh? Dare I say the Halo 3 console probably looks better adorned with those custom painted accessories? Meh. I’ll still pass on the console itself but I’ll definitely take that keyboard for some Halo-themed blogging goodness.

I can see this person has an Elite or just liked the black elite controllers but for this to better fit the Halo 3 console it needs some copper!

Looks alot better than those Mcfarlane controllers. Those things are ugly. I did something in the same style as the controllers on my skateboard. Making the UNSC stencil is a pain.

That is a nice piece of customization right there, most certainly drool worthy.

Thanks for all the comments on my work guys. I hope you all like the things I have planned for the future. I’ll be making a blog of my own soon, no idea where yet though.
If you are interested, I will be making some more of these, most likely all slightly different, maybe with the brass copper color as well, and then putting them up on ebay. Sneak peek: halo 3 themed memory unit. They aren’t up on ebay yet, and I’ve no idea how much I’ll put it up for.
Anyways, enjoy the stuff
and if you have any comments or questions for me directly, you can send them to kroden3d@gmail.com

Oh thank god someone else who thinks the halo 3 360 is awful because of the “gold” parts. Kroden these are amazing designs well done, better than the microsoft versions (i prerfere the controller to the other halo ones). If these were on sale I’d buy a controller (no need for keyboard got a laptop).
