Personalized Halo 3 Profile Images

Sometimes I stumble upon the greatest things. Other times I am simply given them. This is a case of the latter. A personalized Halo 3 profile image appeared in my inbox one day out of the blue, courtesy of a gamer that goes by Bootsman. He said he made it for me simply because he thought I would enjoy it as I am obviously someone that is passionate about Halo. He was 100% correct.
The Spartan in that image is actually my Halo character. This is how he gets the specific character images, plus what the profile “stats” mean :
I use a system link custom game to lower the weapons on the characters (hold RB, LB, L-stick, A and D-pad-down for a second) so I can get a better view of them while I run them down a black hallway under a base on snowbound (Search Black Room for the variant)
After that, I simply grab the images and adjust the brightness and contrast of them so the minimal background fades out and the player model stands out. Then I just simply cut the model to a photoshop template and feed in the details.

ID: Total games played/Date you joined bungie.net
Rank: (Self explained)
Callsign: Sierra/Echo (depending if you’re a spartan or an elite.) *Your Callsign*, *Your Gamertag*
Role: Varies from requested ones to those obtained from your career stats. If you use a BR, you’re a “Rifleman”. If you have a crapload of melee’s and AR high on your list, You’re “Run and Gun”
So while it is neat that he made one for me, that is not even the best part of it. He actually makes them for anybody who requests them. And no, he doesn’t charge for them nor does he expect a single thing in return. He makes them simply because he enjoys it. How cool is that? Request yours here, but expect a wait list!

Bootsman is the man. I asked for one and it turned out great. The fact that he did yours out of pure generosity is truly respectable.
I was wondering where the sudden rush of requests came from! =D
And yes, anyone with photoshop/GIMP skills could do this, but I seem to be the only one doing it. As easy as it sounds, each image actually takes around 10-15 minutes, from start to finish, to complete. So with quick math, I’ve wasted around 30 hours on creating the images in question to whomever have requested them.
And only because I like to make the images. Not as a polite, but mad, quest for recon.

Of course they could. But do they? How many people do you see creating things like this for absolutely anybody who asks? This person spends time on people he doesn’t even know simply because he enjoys doing it. That’s the point.
It was just sitting in my inbox one morning. It absolutely made my day! I don’t photoshop at all so I definitely appreciate the effort that he put into it.

MDgtsArDshbgs I was not trying to talk bad about his work, but I have voluntered to photoshop stuff myself and that makes it less special for me that he makes these things on everyone’s request for free surely it is something nice and cool, especially that he made one for bs Angel as an unanounced gift. But I’m just honest and sometimes I just formulate things the wrong way.
