Friday Caption Fun, Round 5

halo 3 screenshotFriday has rolled around once again. I am not only ready for the weekend, but I am also ready for spring break. I will be going out of town tomorrow which means I really need to start packing. Needless to say, I don’t consider that to be a pleasant activity. Please help me procrastinate by entertaining me with your witty captions! Before we start, let’s recap last week’s rather humorous submissions.

  • “Hi, I’d like a splazer with a extra battery pack and for my son *points down*, a happy Maul.” (spartan013nl)
  • “John excitedly played ski ball for hours and hours on end, earning ticket after ticket. After countless games, 2 tons worth of tickets and a trip to the prize counter, John was told he only had enough for the glow in the dark fangs, or a plasma pistol. It was at that moment, the Chief realized – ChuckECheese sucks.” (-S-)
  • “Spartan: “Credits WILL be fine.” Elite: “No, they won’t! What, you think you’re some kind of Jedi, waving your hand around like that? I’m a Sangheili, mind tricks don’t work on me, only money!”” (PhantomX182)
  • “Jerry didn’t think there was anything scarier than the Soup Nazi, until he bought Halo 3 and an Xbox Live account…NO GUNS FOR YOU!” (Mid7night)
  • “Umm ya…this “Cortana” AI that you gave me keeps nagging me. I want a refund.” (JelloPuddinPup)

The world is full of stereotypes. For some reason people love taking large groups of people and then assuming they all share the same basic characteristics. We are subjected to stereotyping based on everything from gender to race to religion to particular interests we are passionate about. How many times have you been confronted with generalizations people make about gamers that couldn’t be farther from the truth? I thought I would take some stereotypical statements about gamers from various articles around the internet and see how close to home they land. Do I fit the stereotype? Do I break the mold? We are about to find out.

How Much Would You Pay For Mii?

Miis are pretty darn cute, there is no doubt about it. But did you know those customizable Nintendo Wii characters are also serious business? World-renowned Master Mii Artisan Bobby Bobby (who is currently ranked #1 on the American Mii Artisan Rankings on the Check Mii Out channel) is now offering personalized Miis on eBay for all of you hardcore gamers desiring a “professional touch to your Mii avatar”. You would think with his impressive credentials and fancy title that his services would run you hundreds of dollars, but he somehow manages to keep his prices at only $7.99 per Mii.

He offers a small portfolio of past clients so you can take a peek at his work. Spitting images of the person they are patterned after? I will let you be the judge of that. Thankfully the Mii ordering process is quite simple. You send him a picture of yourself, preferably a nice headshot, and he sends you a personalized Mii a few days later. I just may need to get into this business. I could add my own little touch of adding a small pink bow to every client. I am sure everybody would love that.
