I am so, so excited to finally be able to tell you about the Xbox 360 Content Creation Challenge presented by Nokia! It has been in the works for a while now and being under embargo for so long almost killed me, I’m not kidding. At times I had to literally clasp my hands over my mouth in order to not say anything, which in turn led me to attempt to take a sudden intake of breath only to find myself without oxygen and thus panicking irrationally about not being able to breathe. Each time I eventually remembered I could get air through my nose but it still freaked me out. See, I told you it almost killed me. Anyways, on to the important stuff.
Have you ever wished you could create your own Xbox 360 theme? I know some of you who are gifted in the art of graphic design have certainly dreamt of being able to deck out your various blades however your little heart desires. Finally you are being given that very opportunity by a partnership between Disruptive Publishers and Nokia. The bare bones of the contest are this :
- Sign up at my360theme.com (be sure to affiliate yourself with my community when registering).
- Create and upload your theme.
- Vote for your favorites!
The winning entries (the competitors with the highest cumulative votes) will be published to the Xbox LIVE Marketplace where millions of Xbox Live users will have access to them. On top of that, the individual leaderboard winner will win a grand prize (ARV: $2499.99) including :
- (1) Prizes – Blu-Ray DVD player
- (1) 42’ LCD 1080p TV
- 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Home Theater
- Nokia N81 Phone
- (5) XBOX 360 Video Games
I know you want all that stuff. I do too! While only the top theme will receive the grand prize, fret not because I have been given some smaller prizes to give away as well. When you register for an account at my360theme.com, you will have the option of affiliating yourself with one of the Community Partners. You will find me on that list under the very obvious “Hawty McBloggy”. Everybody affiliated with my site will not only be eligible for the grand prize but will also be eligible for the prizes just for my community members. I will have lots of Microsoft point cards to hand out to top Hawty McBloggy competitors when the contest is completed. I also have one more thing you may be interested in.
I have been promised a small “perk” for participating in this challenge. Instead of keeping it, I have decided to give it to the person in my community that receives the most votes. Yes, the top rated person that is affiliated with my site will receive a Nokia N81 Phone. Retailing for approximately $500, this is the phone for music and gaming junkies alike. My phone may not be the fanciest thing ever, but I poured a lot of time and effort into her where I don’t need another one right now. So off it goes, possibly to you. I could very well have more stuff to give away when the contest is over, as the community leader receives the following :

Sound good? Yeah, I thought so! Start designing your Xbox 360 theme. After it is submitted, bug your friends and family to vote for it. You may also want to harass anybody you work with too. I strongly suggest you use your work breaks to go from cubicle to cubicle forcing all of your coworkers to register at the site and vote for you. Just be sure to tell them thank you afterwards.

Miss Ash, I got confirmation of that very question tonight because I don’t think that is actually listed anywhere. You can submit as many themes as you would like. So design away!
