Cubee Craft (a website featuring free downloadable papercraft designs) recently released their version of our favorite Spartan stud. While I have always loved looking at various beloved video game characters crafted from paper, I have never tried to actually do it myself. Until now.

Today is the first day I have tried my hand at making something out of paper. Today is also the last day I am ever going to try my hand at making something out of paper. Cubee Craft makes it sound so simple. “Simply print, cut and fold your model into a cute and fun paper toy.” The only simple thing out of all of that was the printing part. The design itself only takes up about half a sheet a paper so cutting all the tiny little edges requires a decent amount of patience. That patience is nothing compared to the patience required for completing the folding part of the project though. Let’s just say it’s two hours later and I feel the intense need to sign onto Live and kill things. Lots and lots of things.
The good news is that I now have an adorably tiny (approximately two inches tall) Master Chief papercraft figure to show for all my hard work. It was rather boring and simple when the project was completed so I felt the need to dress it up a bit. If you know me at all, I am sure you have already guessed what I added to it.

Worth the time and effort? I’m not too sure at this point. I’ll ponder that later when the cramps in both my hands go away.

Aww that’s adorable! Haha of course it wouldn’t be you if you don’t add the bling and put a little pink in it :) Nice work angel! I think I might try my luck with that stormtrooper hehe.

Nice job! isnt it hard to cut out all those tiny little pieces..ugh.
I built a Halo not too long ago, spread out over two nights…not an easy task let me tell you. I put a link to the picture and the artist who created it in my “Name Url” thingy in case you wanted to give it a shot. =)

I can tell already that I don’t even want to venture near the project that you did. That looks like crazy work! Props to you for having the patience to finish it. :)

“Just when you thought you couldn’t customize your Spartan-II anymore, we’ve now added ‘The Bedazzler’!” – Harold Ryan, Bungie Head-Honcho
Overall it’s a fantastic piece of art.

Hah! Really cool!!! I am always interested in that kind of art(?).
We have a flatbed plotter at my work, and I keep telling myself that one of these days I’ll try one of these paper projects. They’re so cool! :)

SWEET! I’ve loved LEGOs for most of my life, and if this is anything like those, I’m gonna dive right in and come out feeling victorious!… unlike other things I do in life… you know… I’m done explaining.

The design should take up the whole piece of paper… you have to rotate the image to print landscape… when I built mine it was about 3.5 inches tall and took MAYBE 15 minutes. The only tools i used were an exacto knife and a ruler.

Uhhh, this isn’t very hard. I made that portal turret, two of these MCs, a portal security camera, and a halo ring. I also made Frankie’s Mister Chief papercraft.
I am making these MCs and giving them away to friends.

Papercraft is awsome, messy glue is not :(
