Swarovski Crystal Bubbles Faceplate

I love bling and I love my Xbox 360. Having those two things intermix is the very thing my wildest dreams are made of. SpaceGhost2K’s mother clearly shares my passions and it is because of her faceplates like this that she will forever be the recipient of my undying love.

blinged xbox 360 faceplate

Purchase here : worldwidewebb’s eBay Store
Starting bid : US $99.99
Auction ends : Mar-09-08 19:15:00 PDT

As someone that has blinged things before, I can tell you that while you may get sticker shock when first seeing the pricetag, that really is the deal of the century. Swarovski crystals do not come cheap and I would be surprised if that price even covers the cost of the crystals themselves, much less all the labor that went into it. As time passes it will more than likely require a little maintenance (as far as gluing back on any crystals that may randomly fall off) but that minor nuisance is well worth the beauty of the faceplate.

UPDATE : This item ended with no bids.

She is going to great lengths to try to upstage me. She has assured me that it will take prying the jewels off with a knife to get them to come off. There are indeed over $100 in Swarovski crystals on the plate, and over 30 hours of labor to decorate it. That’s roughly two THOUSAND hand-attached crystals.

I purchased the first plate made by TheCrystalNinja. She sold over 200 plates at $275 each that were covered in crystals like this. THey were all the same pattern: white crystals with a blue flame in three shades of blue. The plate I bought from her was the first one she made to use as a sample and I got it “for a steal” for about $185.

A full Xbox job done for Tomb Raider went for over ten thousand dollars.

I know exactly what faceplate you are talking about, that’s awesome that you have one.

I doubt many crystals will fall off, probably just a few here or there, and all around the power button more than likely. That is where mine have fallen off. I use industrial strength glue and even on my cell phone that I keep in my back pocket, only three have fallen off, and they were all on the outer edge. They do really stay on well, it’s amazing.

  6. Lovely! I agree Space… only guys will comment that way to such beauty. I can’t imagine covering the entire ps3 face with this since it’s triple the size of a 360 face.

  8. So much sparkle… retinas burning… *Lunges for welding mask*

That must have taken an incredible amount of fine motor coordination to pull off. I must say, I am rather impressed.

  9. Seriously if a crystal falls off use Araldite, it will never come off again I’ve used it on several things and they haven’t fallen off since it’s amazing stuff. And Swarovski crystals are expensive my ex tried to get me to buy her a bracelet from them (as beautiful as it was) and I refused cos it would of cost me bout a grand to get it and I don’t have that kind of money especially as I was bout 16 at then time, needless to say I broke up with her shortly after that cos I realized she was using a lot of my money up (bout 3/4 of what I earned with little reward or benefit) every month and I was earning bout £500 a month (bout $1000).

  10. Should of said araldite is an epoxy resin/hardener two-tube glue used as a industrial glue in many structures such as bridges and buildings and is commercially available but relatively expensive for glues but worth it cos the materials it bonds will break before the bond itself will break (depends on material but I’ve used it on plastic to bond it to metal and it worked wonders, slight ‘melting’ of plastic but nothing substantial)

  11. No im not bragging, i was one of the first to get one of these made, not by spaceghosts mom but bye some other lady I found on ebay.

She only charged me 30$ at the time, but that was because I allowed her to use my special design for promo on ebay.
I love it.. I wont trade it, no matter how flashy it is :)

99$ is still pretty damn cheap for hard hand labor. Big props to anyone who puts that much effort into something.

  12. Hmm. I don’t like it. :)

But I’m a guy, so ignore my opinion. I’d rather spend $99 on a blow-up swimming pool and fill it with baby oil. Let your imagination roam…

She uses GemTec glue. And I gots ta tell you, you have no idea how much fun a guy can have with some Ben Gay, Nair and GemTec glue.

Oh, and Nathaniel… motor skills, check. She can hit anything in a house with a shoe. Even around corners.

This plate is gorgeous–but my favorites have definitely been the H3 & RRDBling of Death plates she has done….
    I can’t believe how inexpensive these plates are going for…it’s a girly gamer’s dream…

She is working on one that is a vertical plate featuring a peac0ck. My GF saw it on the counter and her jaw hit the floor.

    A peac0ck?? Omg….

Okay..so the ONLY negative is that you will want to purchase everything Mama Ghost produces…and thus you will still have purchased NOTHING…
