Rorschach Inkblot Test – Foundry

The Rorschach Inkblot Tests we have been doing every Friday have been an absolute blast. Some of the responses are hilariously entertaining, others are deeply insightful, but they are all quite interesting. Today’s inkblok test will be the last one (we’ll start a new activity next Friday) so let’s enjoy it!
Last week we used The Pit’s Halo 3 global heatmap as our image and for the first time, the most popular response was Halo related. It’s crazy it took this long! Another response that was heard a few times over is a personal favorite childhood toy of mine so I was excited to see that one as well. I didn’t see either of these things when looking at the image the first time, but once I read the responses, of course they instantly appeared.
NovaHunter first noticed the resemblance to a Grunt’s face. Spartan013nl, wolfy, Dan the Stick, Grady, MinkOWar, Socket29, Harbi Darbi, Wolf, and yayap_the_grunt all saw the same thing.
BlueNinja and BattleMaster25 were excited to see the AutoBot symbol from Transformers. Other people seeing Transformer related things were trigger119, Friedman, and Twilight Ronin.
More fun answers were about the Short Circuit robot (best. movie. ever.). RyJen saw him upside down, JawReich saw him going through a fire, and Azrylle just saw him like he is.
My favorite answer came from zukan who said, “That’s without a doubt a bottle of Chateau Petrus from the very good 1989 vintage.” Let me know next time you are serving that and I’ll head over for some dinner and fabulous wine.
On to this week’s image. We are wrapping up our Rorschach Inkblot Test kick with Foundry. It’s an interesting image and definitely has some potential. So tell me, what do you see? Remember, extra nonexistent points for originality. Let’s finish this with a bang!
It;s wierd looking this time. I see a jester with to many limbs. An Octo-jester maybe.

Oh, that’s CLEARLY that scene in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Los Ark where Indy and Marion are tied to a post and the angels of Death are whirling around them.
How can you guys not see that?

if you can get past the fact that the “legs” do look more like tentacles.

The first thing that struck me was that the middle red lines look a lot like a few mechs from the mechwarrior games seen from the front. (Hmm, the Shadow Cat especially)

I agree with Pixellated. It’s definitely the biohazard symbol. Failing that, a face hugger.
It’s a Demon shadow creature from ‘Ghost’ holding a red leather whip in his left hand and standing on a mountain of Heinz 57 ketchup while singing “Killing Me Softly” and considering making a late night run to White Castle.
Looks like a tremor from the movie Tremors.
Two guys, one taller, one shorter, both with big noses, standing back to back in a pose reminiscent of classic “dynamic duo” action movie posters, with flames coming up around them at their feet. And, of course, they have weapons held out in front of them in an “at ease” but still potentially lethal manner.
Very dramatic, I think.
