If Cooper Lawrence had an Xbox 360, I bet this would be her faceplate. The focal point on this Mass Effect-themed faceplate is the mother of all achievements. What exactly was unlocked? Apparently you “nailed the blue chick”. And if that wasn’t enough, you got a pretty 25 points to add to your gamerscore as well. If only, right?
UPDATE : This item sold for US $29.99.

A little crude but funny enough that I would buy it anyway. Not that I could really have this in the living room, I can just see me trying to explain who the blue chick is to my seventy year old Auntie next time she visits :D.
More importantly with the Achievement Unlocked Generator it makes you wonder if this will be the first in a series of funny achievement faceplates.

Whoa, his face plates are awesome (the red ring of death is particularly shiny).
Also, following the links I just watched the original interview about Mass Effect and god, it was embarrassing to watch all these people talk on and on about something they have no clue about.
I felt sorry for the game reviewer guy, I’m sure he must’ve just been looking at these people and thinking ‘jesus, just play the bloody game already’.
Oh woe is our children seeing the gamez pornz… Oh grow up, kids for countless years always got a hold of porn, hell, I used to walk to school and see magazine porn strewn over the ground.
That and Mass Effect is KOTOR in space, so mega lawlz at them.
Y’know… I hope you didn’t already post about this interview, I’m so behind (and new to your blog).

I actually never wrote an article on the debacle that was the Mass Effect madness of Fox News, but I followed it closely and hold very strong views on it for a few different reasons. That whole clip is just so painful to watch. The ignorance and claims of being an “expert” are simply beyond ridiculous. And all on a big news cast none the less.
And all of the faceplates made by this gentleman (and his mom now too!) are amazing. I love his stuff. I have bid on a few of his plates but have never won one. Curses.

Care to share your views?
… I just wrote a slightly bigg rant on it but decided against posting it, being the whole new to your blog thing. Hee.
Crap, I’ve totally warped the whole point of your entry. *flee*

Also: Maybe Jim028 might be lucky and get a custom faceplate next payday. ;)

Hey, I was wondering if you were the “Fee” that Jim references! I have heard about your anime collection. Hey may want a certain poster as well next payday. LOL … (ducks and hides)
And please, feel free to rant away. I don’t mind the direction that comments go. The most interesting conversations tend to break out. I would love to hear your views. We can take turns bitching about it. :)

Haha! It isn’t a certain poster of Cortana is it? Because he already has that one, he showed it to me a couple of months ago when he got it, it’s pretty nice but I don’t really see Cortana like that so it made me kinda sad (she’s sassy and intelligent, not ‘omg t-bag me now!’).
Er, perhaps that was too much. :D
I’m saddened that he mentioned American Idol, I’m just a lazy TV viewer who doesn’t change channels, I can’t help if it’s always on. T_T
Erm, back to topic… Damn, all the rage flew out of me since I last typed my post (Playing city building games does that, being Emperor is relaxing) but I really did want to slap the lady in the blue top. She went from telling us that “The team who came together to rate this game ‘needed their heads examined’” to “Maybe I feel old but what happened to Pac-man?”
… So, you’ve just stated in your last comment that you have no idea about computer games since the 80’s yet they’ve brought you on this panel to throw your thoughts about willy nilly.
Uh huh…
It’s once of those interviews that you could attack each and every sentence that’s said and be pretty much 100% correct. Tried to rant about it to Jim028 but he’s too happy playing Star Wars Lego.
Also like to add that I’m really enjoying your blog, kept seeing it on Jim’s macbook and he kept talking about you, being that you are a fellow girl gamer piped my interest and here I am! Your entries are refreshing and honest that T-Bag card has caught my eye on several occasions.

I love Star Wars Lego! Not quite as much as I love the new American Idol karaoke game. That’s right, I’ll admit it! I bought that game and am loving every second of it. If you enjoy American Idol, you should check it out too. :)
I was particularly disturbed by two things wth the Mass Effect debacle. First, the fact that someone that makes their living as an author would go on a big name news cast and spout ramblings as an “expert” about a subject that she admits she knows absolutely nothing about. It doesn’t exactly add to your credibility for your profession. If she was a fiction author, that would be one thing. But she isn’t. How anybody can purchase one of her books now I just don’t understand.
Second, the entire piece was so obviously biased from the very beginning. They were simply trying to make a point and disguising it as something else. I was shocked they would bring someone on that actually knew something about the game (the video game gentleman) and not even give him two uninterrupted seconds to state his side. News today is so about presenting the side they want to, it is repulsive.
So there’s my mini rant, LOL … and thank you so much for your kind words. I appreciated it. :)

I don’t think I’d get points for banging a blue chick. I would probably get Syphilis, though.

Spacey does good work doesn’t he? :-)
Angel: I long ago abandoned all hope for Fox News to show any kind of journalistic integrity (or do ANY research) on anything they cover.
The whole Mass Effect drama brought back memories of good ol’ Jack Thompson. I actually went through penny-arcade’s news archive to find their whole back-and-forth with him – culminating in them donating $10,000 to charity in his name and him throwing lawsuits at them. That was a great day for gamers. :-)
At least the ambulance chaser had the sense stay out of this one.
Jonathan: Wouldn’t the syphilis be worth it though?
No. No probably not. But you would definitely have the bragging rights.
