I knew the image I selected for the “Caption This” Contest had a lot of potential, but I don’t think I realized just how much potential it truly had. A total of 484 captions were submitted, all of which were either cute, funny, creative, or hilarious. Some people submitted several dozen, other people wrote just a few. Surprisingly enough only 24% of the answers were related to sex, the most common one referencing Viagra. People also love their Joe Staten jokes (schedonnardus made me laugh with “Say hello to my little friend. No I mean Staten, not the grenade.”), with Frankie appearing frequently as his sidekick.
Before announcing the winner I would like to recognize some of my personal favorites. First up is the thecanvasgrey who wrote the cutest version of I Will Survive:

If you didn’t sing those lyrics when reading that, you are fired. Zach Jarrell was the only one to submit a picture (which was very nicely photoshopped might I add), and a plethora of people had fun at my expense (jerks). Peniamina proved he was thoroughly traumatized by a previous article I had written by saying, “I think I’m gonna need a bigger Beautiful Katamari PSP bag.” -S- remembered my fondness for modding teammates’ weapons with his comment, “After the success of modding her teammates sniper rifle, bs angel decides to mod her teammates crotch-plate as well.” Luke was apparently thinking along those same lines with, “Why would you modify me Angel?!?!?!?! WWHHHHHYYYYYYY!!!!!!!” Tortacular doesn’t like being on my team it would seem as he said, “Angel got tired of throwing multiple grenades to betray me, so she had this one made special order…“. I must admit, that would certainly be awesome. NsU Soldier made me laugh several times over between his numerous submissions and his excuses for why he kept on coming back. He wins the “I made bs angel laugh 42 times and all I got was this lousy mention” award.
With the large amount of hilarious submissions, it was extremely difficult to narrow it down. After much deliberation I finally selected my 15 favorite and put them to a vote by my clan. Three choices came out on top and they were all within a single vote of each other so I then had my clanmates vote again, this time with only the top three captions. The winning submission won by a mere two votes with the other two tied in a close second. The second and third place captions were “It’s tough to find good accessories for a purple shirt. Especially if you are Dave from 3rd Floor Accounting.” (by the always lovely SuperGirl Brig) and “Universal and Fox quickly withdrew from the Halo Movie project due to gross over-budgeting in the props department.” (by the very funny -S-). The winning caption, submitted by Xor1an, was a favorite because it was short and sweet.
I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed doing this contest. It was an absolute blast reading what everybody came up with. Perhaps when we run out of global heatmaps for our weekly Rorschach Inkblot Tests, we can do a caption activity. Congrats to Xor1an and a big thank you to everybody who participated!

This WAS fun! I laughed so hard reading all the posts. Angel you picked a great picture for it. I am so flattered to be mentioned too. I hope you do it again at some point. The prize is nice but the real fun is reading and laughing at all the entries.

After reading through the ones before I posted, I thought most of the suggestive ones were a little obvious. I tried to come up with one that was perhaps a little different.
The funny thing is, it was sort of an after-thought that I came up with just before I posted my other one.
If you don’t get it, adults can consult wikipedia for the definition though perhaps younger people should simply be confounded again by the same joke in a different context.

I had a blast coming up with the captions, if nothing else it got my little gray cells working again. Thanks for the mention and I like the award I got, that’s going on a wall somewhere.
And thanks to Xor1an for posting the explanation of what a “safe-word” is. At first I didn’t get it, so it was just chuckle worthy, but given the full context, it’s friggin’ hilarious! Good Job!

S’s was funnier.. and i actually smirked when i read it.
