Playing Guitar Hero with a Turntable

In an effort to promote hip-hop, Aaron Skillman made a wondrous Guitar Hero mod he calls the “Scratch Blaster”. One weekend spent working diligently in his garage was all it took to make this portable controller. This fully functional Guitar Hero turntable controller substitutes scratching for strumming and still uses the whammy bar and also the tilt sensor for star power. It’s freakin’ awesome as you will see in this video. I want.

I’d play with this modded controller on Guitar Hero instead of Beatmania any day of the week.

  6. props for the mod but i find the button positions to be awkward. that and if you’re gonna be playing dj style, the IIDX controller is definitely more ergonomic… or maybe if he just put the gh turntable on a table itself…

i’d have a hard time getting used to playing the “guitar” piano style though…
