An Ode To Xbox Live Not Working

It is finally the moment I wait for all week
The time to game has arrived
I anxiously turn on my Halo-themed 360
and sign into Xbox Live
I think of the good times that await me on Halo
Then the unthinkable happens
I look at my screen with a horrified expression
And cringe while reading the caption
Can’t connect to Xbox Live? Signing in has failed?
Oh no, this simply cannot be
I sit and stare blankly at my television screen
I can no longer think clearly
I run to my computer, go straight to my forums
And start a very panicked thread
I can’t sign on, I need some help, please what do I do?
That is exactly what I said
Suddenly I notice at least twenty other threads
All saying the exact same thing
Nobody else can sign into Xbox Live either?
Our hope for the night was fading
We had plans to kick some ass in Slayer all night long
We were all very excited
We were going to rank up several times over
Now we were less than delighted
We checked several gaming sites, all which said the same thing
Xbox Live was having problems
Then at least we knew the errors were not on our end
So we stopped checking our modems
Xbox Live was down and there was nothing we could do
Regardless of how hard we tried
There was just no signing into Xbox Live that night
I just sat and looked at the Guide
No Halo, no Gears of War, no Call of Duty 4
No Hexic or even Uno
There wasn’t a single game I could play with my friends
It was the ultimate deathblow
So what do I do since I can’t go online and game
I really haven’t got a clue
TV is boring, there aren’t any good movies
Back to my 360 I flew
I decide to check one more time before giving up
Perhaps Xbox Live is back now
I watch the 360 load up and try to sign in
But playing it still won’t allow
And despite the fact that a long five minutes has passed
From Xbox Live there isn’t a peep
I guess I will have to find something else to do now
Forget it, I’m going to sleep
Whut happend to good ‘ol single player? :|
i agree with ashsme, i don’t even have xbox live and i play with it a lot
go buy kotor or play it again (i hate that game but it’s very time consuming)
Sucks. I actually had an annual online event planned for yesterday evening. : /
Most of my live issues happened in the late evening from around 7-10pm CST. It would sign me in just before I went to test my connection for live, but once i left that it would sign me out. Then I’d be able to connect while in dashboard but couldn’t access anything else, and in a game it wouldn’t connect.

Truth be told, I missed the entire downtime as I didn’t play yesterday during the day. I just saw it all over the web and thought I would have some fun with it. LOL …
Hahah Very nice angel :) Yeah I remember that one, my hubby was about to throw out his controller because he couldnt sign in! He thought Microsoft screwed him over because it says he can’t connect or user name invalid or something…I’m like “Dear… I don’t think Microsoft did that because you prefer Mac over PC and you think Microsoft is the devil” (we’re MAC geeks by the way) We kept going back and forth from the 360 to our computer trying to find his password and all that crap. I helped him out so calmly because he was about to call Microsoft LOL.
