For the Old School Gamers

I was thinking this stuff is perfect for the old school gamers but maybe that isn’t the right phrase. How do kids nowadays refer to us? Retro gamers? Gamers that like antiques? People that are really old? Whatever we are called, some of us have been around since the days of the Atari. Anybody that was not raised playing Pong, Pac-Man, Pitfall, or Space Invaders really missed out.

With the holiday shopping season officially here, it is time to keep our eyes open for unique gifts. I have scoured around looking for the neatest and most original Atari-themed accessories and these are my nine favorite. They are listed from least expensive (perfect stocking stuffers) to the more pricey items. If someone who grew up with an Atari is on your shopping list, any of these things would make an awesome gift.

Old School Joystick Charm

Purchase here : Kimazier’s Shop
Price : $3.25
Note : You could do so many things with this. Turn it into a keyring, add a chain for a cute necklace, or hang it from a ribbon to use as a tag for a gaming-themed gift.

Vintage Atari Joystick Retro Pop Art Print

Old School Joystick Earrings

Basic Fun Atari 2600 Plug ‘n Play Asst. Keychain

Atari Duct Tape Wallet

You Always Remember Your First t-shirt

Purchase here : 80sTees.com
Price : $20
Note : I remember my first. I can’t figure out what that has to do with the joystick though.

Crocheted Atari joystick

Purchase here : Serenajasmine’s Shop
Price : $36
Note : I love this because of how the seller describes it. She says, “I was crocheting an Atari Joystick from scratch and I overestimated the size of the joystick part! Anyway, it’s kind of phallic looking now.” Add rumble effects and I’m sold.

Atari Cufflinks

Note : This seller’s avatar says “I <3 BJ”. This article is never going to get back on track.

Apparently old school people love things that vibrate ; )

Ahhh Atari! I think I was between 6-8 yrs old when I had my first Atari game console. That crocheted Atari console is hillarious!

I’ve always refered to us older gamers as the “Joystick Generation’.
These gits you dug up are awesome! I don’t think my wife would dig the Atari Joystick candleholder, but maybe she’d wear the ear rings, lol!!

    Hmm.

The rather phallic “Crocheted Joystick” looks more like “Crotched Joystick”.
