Custom Halo Master Chief figure with a GI Joe Base

16 11 2007

I have been seeing more of these custom Master Chief figures popping up on eBay that are made from using other action figures as the starting point. They are really beginning to grow on me, especially when they are well done. In my opinion, this is one of those well done examples.

This custom Master Chief figure was made from a GI Joe Sigma 6 Strike Duke figure. The creator says “Many areas were sculpted using Aves sculpt, and a piece of brass was used as the face shield”. I love the helmet and especially the visor.

Features :

This is a custom Halo Master Chief figure made from a GI Joe Sigma 6 Strike Duke figure. Many areas were sculpted using Aves sculpt and a piece of brass was used as the face shield. The paint is high quality testors with a clear coat for durability. The paint color is mainly a military olive/green with other colors blended. I tried to get as close to Master Chiefs armor color as I could. I also added some battle-damaged scuffs and scrapes. The Sigma 6 figures are great to customize IMO because they are very solid and the joints are tight and strong. This Master Chief can be posed without worry of the paint coming off however, I would recommend he just be used for display purposes.

I custom made the plasma sword from a metal golf divet tool and changed the rifle a bit. The two pistols are standard ones that come with the Duke figure. I will be adding more guns later. I wasn’t happy with some parts of them and will be remaking them. The two grenades on his right thigh are removable. The base is from a spiderman figure that I just repainted. The generic bad guy lying inside of it has been repainted as well.

I’m pretty sure he’s ice skating. Anyways, I plan on watching this figure to see what the final bid ends up being. The current bid of a little over $16 is extremely reasonable but we’ll see how much it climbs. Keep in mind the holidays are getting closer and this figure would make an excellent gift for any Halo fan, especially children that are old enough to handle it appropriately but still enjoy playing with it on the rare occasion. It would also make a great gift for any adult that still acts like a child, which is pretty much all of us here.

UPDATE : This item sold for US $49.00.

Wow, I didn’t even kno that such creativity was possible. But now I know.

And Knowing Is Half the Battle!!!
looks like master chief needs to do some squats or something, he’s rapidly losing muscle mass in his legs

Interesting stuff - it looks a little misshapen, but still cool.

It would be something that belongs amongst a bunch of other MC figures in hopes that it would stand out as an original.
