Today is the 2nd Annual Fight Like a Girl Halo Tournament where all the proceeds go towards the fight against breast cancer. Thank you to everybody who signed up and/or donated! This cause is a very worthy one. Here are some eye opening statistics for you :

What are the estimated numbers of new breast cancer cases and deaths for the year 2007?

An estimated 178,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to occur among women in the United States during 2007. An estimated 40,460 women will die from breast cancer. It is estimated that 2,030 men will be diagnosed and 450 men will die of breast cancer during 2007. In addition to invasive breast cancer, 62,030 new cases of in situ breast cancer are expected to occur among women in 2007. Of these, approximately 85 percent will be ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS).

Today is a good day for recognizing that this world is bigger than just you and me and that each and every one of us has the power to make a difference. Best of luck to all participants, but more importantly, have some fun!

See you on the battlefield. I’ll be the one dieing frequently and planting stickies on my teammate’s back.

I played in FFA.

It was a lot of fun.

My favorite moment was on Narrows and I went onto the man-cannon, with a needler, thinking someone would be on the other side.

Instead, I ended up meeting someone else in the middle, KTK8. We bumped into each other and tried to kill one another in mid air. It was hilarious. We both fell to our deaths. ^_^

LOL … And did you both land some shots so at least you got a kill out of it?

I played 2 v. 2. I think my highlight was not moving for the first two full minutes of the game. I was scared! So I didn’t budge until I had to. After the game, the other team told me they were wondering where I was. They thought maybe I grabbed invisi and man-cannoned over and was coming behind them. No no no, I was still at my base. :)

lol, i was a bit scared myself when I was playing FFA.

Yeah, we managed to get a couple shots in, so it did not count as suicides.

The rounds I played in went very smoothly.

I had a marvelous time : )

I had a long day, but it was well worth it!! I played in both tournaments. We had a really close match against Got No and Tiny. And I made it to the 3rd round in FFA, where I ended up in 5th place with 17 assists! 17!!!

I missed out on the tournament (my girlfriend had to work and I wanted to enter it with her) but I hope it raised a lot of money!

There’s always next year Kato. :)

17 assists Zoomy?! It’s almost like I was there with my br stealing all those kills! Awesome job on making it to the 3rd round. And an even awesomer job on pulling off the entire tournament. It seemed to go very smoothly down to ever last detail. I tracked the progress through the brackets and was so impressed with how quickly they were updated.

I wish I would have known about this earlier, i would have definitely participated. When I was 16…….wait just got done with the credits on heroic gotta watch this again lol………….Anyways, when I was 16 my aunt (not by blood, my mom’s best friend) was diagnosed and i remember how intense it was. I am proud to say she kicked cancer’s butt *high fives* and I have had a pink bracelet on my wrist since they came out! Everytime I see her I’m reminded of how easily it could have taken her, and how happy i am that there are so many opportunities out there for us to support these causes. Keep us updated on these events, what better way to support the cause then by killing a bunch of noobs!!!

I am so thankful your story has a happy ending. :)

And I agree, when you can support a worthy cause while playing your favorite video game, it just doesn’t get any better.

I got to play in the tournament and I was glad to be able to participate for such a good cause.

The Cavegirls had an excellent staff running this tourney and went very smoothly from my end.

Despite my crappy internet I enjoyed my 2v2 and FFA. I will definitely play again next year.

Even though my n00b teammate spent our match hiding :P

So, how’s the weather?
