Just writing that date in the title of this article gave me the tingles. Can you believe how close we are? My excitement has been building as I have been doing my activities each day this week. It’s been a slow crescendo but has finally started leveling off. I have reached a state of calmness because simply, I am ready. I am ready to finish the fight.
What am I supposed to be writing about again? … Oh yes, today’s giveaway! How easily I get sidetracked. Today’s giveaway takes us back to where we started, which was with the Halo pick-up lines. My giveaways began with that theme, then moved on to the feminine side of things, took a quick break to give tribute to the people that are unable to finish the fight, and now return to the playfulness that is picking up on the chicks Halo style.
Giveaway #6 : Plasma Grenade Halo Pick-Up Line card
First of all, I just love this pick-up line. It makes me laugh. I knew right away what picture I would use with this card, then just had to decide on the rest of the specifics. I wanted to carry the “plasma” theme onto the paper so I selected a blue background paper of polka dots. Explode is the key word in this particular pick-up line so I wanted to display it on the front. Using the polka dots presented a perfect opportunity for that word as “explode” fit perfectly across the front. Then I encountered a problem. My handwriting is cutesy, and cutesy just doesn’t fit the feel of this card. I attempted to write the letters Halo-style but it just looked like crap. I decided I wanted the Halo font for that word but had to figure out how to put it on those polka dots in a clean fashion. After trial and error, I got the Halo font in just the right size, printed off the letters on clear vellum (so the color of the dots would still show through), and adhered them to the polka dots with raised clear gel dots. All in all, getting “explode” on the front of the card took me over two hours. However it was well worth it to get it in that Halo font. For me, that’s what makes the card.

I love this card, and I had a strong feeling that you’ve been using vellum on some of these… that stuff is awesome! Let’s hope I at least win one of these (and my hubby too!) *crosses fingers*
