Halo 3 Races Onto the NASCAR Scene

If you watch the Dover 400 Nextel Cup Series race at Dover International Speedway on 09.23.07, you just may catch a glimpse of Master Chief. An announcement today made by Target, Microsoft and Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) states that the No. 40 car will be pimped out with an exclusive Halo 3-themed design in anticipation of the game’s release just two days after the race.

To add some icing to this already delicious morsel of news, the driver (David Stremme) claims to be a Halo fan as well.

“I’m honored and excited to be running the ‘Halo 3′ car at Dover and can’t wait to show off this awesome paint scheme,” said Stremme. “It’s going to be a special experience when the car rolls off the truck for the first time at Dover – as a Halo fan, I’m thrilled.”

The other drivers are in for a tasty treat too. Target and Microsoft are giving select drivers the opportunity to play Halo 3 prior to its release. If I start training really hard right now, do you think I could qualify to be a NASCAR driver by September 23rd? If Forza is any indicator of my driving skill, I would guess I would do poorly. And by poorly I mean I would absolutely suck. Oh well. I will continue my wait for 09.25.07, now with one more Halo related activity to fill my time. On 09.23.07 at the Dover 400 Nextel Cup Series, I’ll be rooting for the Chief.
