Xerxdeej over at blog.tiedtheleader.com recently had the honor of interviewing the voice behind Master Chief, Steve Downes. If you call yourself a Halo fan of any degree, you need to hop on over and give it a listen. The questions are amazing, the quality is amazing, the music is amazing, Steven Downes is amazing, the whole entire thing is truly and utterly amazing. As we impatiently await the awesomeness that is Halo 3, this is the perfect way to spend a bit of your day, giving tribute to the voice behind the central figure of our video game obsession.

A blurb from Master Chief Interview, 2.0 (the short written article accompanying the audio interview) :
There is very little that needs to be said here [in print] that has not already been said better here [in audio] so we will cut to the chase. Lend us your earbuds, and become better acquainted with the Man Behind the Mjolnir.
Go listen. Now. And listen to the whole thing because the best, most incredible part is at the very end. What he says when he signs off literally gave me chills. I just may love Steve Downes as much as I love Master Chief. It is not a long interview; it only runs a little over 10 minutes (I believe it is somewhere in the 12 minute range specifically) so make sure you listen to it in its entirety. I already have. About six times now I believe.

Steve Downes’ voice is awesome. Its got an oddly relaxing and cool quality to it lol – although it isn’t as good as Terry Wogan’s voice: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio2/shows/wogan/
