Bling My Thing : Nintendo DS Style

Bling My Thing is a German based company that offers the art of crystal customization on a wide range of accessories (my favorites being various gaming consoles of course). It is by far the best company that exists for this service. They have an extremely talented staff that designs and creates stunning pieces of art out of crystals. The Bling My Thing team is led by Ayano Kimura, and she had very specific thoughts and ideas about what she wanted to accomplish when the company was founded. From the biography page :

By the summer of 2005, however, Ayano had decided to return her first love – art – and decided to introduce the idea of “deko-den” to the European market. Ayano was aware of the crystal customisations that were starting to be seen in the US , but knew that she could do better.

“I realised that all of the products available looked the same,” explains Ayano, “and all were lacking personality.” From that realisation came the idea for Bling My Thing – a unique company dedicated to the delivery of luxury products.

When Ayano decided to make Bling My Thing unique, she wasn’t joking. “We make products that no one else can produce,” she laughs. “Take, for example, our Xbox 360 with Lara Croft mosaic. It’s completely unique – just like we are!”

Bling My Thing has all of their images protected (where you can’t copy and display them) due to some pictures being stolen in the past. However Ayano knows how much I love her company and all the products she creates so she has kindly given me several images with watermarks on them that I can show on my blog. I’m just a little bit of a fangirl. Just a teeny tiny bit. And by teeny tiny bit I mean I worship the ground she walks on. We have already looked at her PSPs and Xbox 360s; now it’s time for her Nintendo DS Lites. The first several are game-themed and the last two are simply amazing patterns.

My favorite is definitely the last one. I love the varying shades of pink along with the different sizes and shapes of crystals on it. The pattern is beautiful as well; the whole thing is simply stunning. You can see more blinged Nintendo DS Lites that Ayano has created at Bling My Thing’s Gaming Console Gallery. They are located on the first and second pages.

*A very special thank you to Ayano Kimura for providing the images along with the stories on these beautiful consoles. These pictures may not be copied or posted on any other site without Ayano Kimura’s permission.

Man. Pimp My Mario would make quite a show on MTV. I’m curious as to whether I could get some spinning rims for my DS. or a neon cathode that sits just beneath it. oh the possibilities…

Ya know, the PSP is awesome for the light mods with the two trigger buttons on the top. I saw an amazing God of War themed one that made those two buttons glow red.

I think a “Bling My Console” show idea would be fabulous!

I love the animal crossing one!! I love animal crossing!! Spectacular designs.. wow.. how much do these cost?

I don’t know. This is from their FAQ :

The following affects the price: size of crystals, extent of hand-painting, exclusiveness of Swarovski crystals (this can make 10-30 Euro difference). If you want us to draft a new exclusive design, it will also cost extra.

I would assume it is a very pretty penny. : )
