Halo 3, Cupcake-Style

My children went back to school yesterday. I found myself bored during the afternoon while impatiently awaiting their return. I decided to bake them cupcakes as a first day of school treat, except I didn’t bake just any kind of cupcakes. Oh no, I made Halo 3 cupcakes. I have passed along my passion for this game to them; they are eagerly anticipating the release just as much as I am. In their honor, I made them these delectable treats. I had initially planned on crafting more Master Chief helmet ones, but alas, I ran out of time. What greeted my children as they walked in the door, home from their first day of school :

I took pictures both with the flash on and with the flash off. I love the textures that are apparent in the darker pictures. However, the flash pictures are a bit more vivid so I will post one of those as well. Please take note of the crystals on Master Chief’s visor. Did you think I would make something that wasn’t blinged?

Wow! The Halo style font turned out great!
I especially like the sugar crystals on Master Chief’s visor… not only because that’s an awesome decorating idea, but because sugar crystals on cupcakes are awesome!
