PAX 2007 : Link Lovin’

2 09 2007

I had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people at PAX. The entire three days were nothing short of a pleasure. I will attempt to list the people that are affiliated with sites and I apologize in advance if I forgot anybody (I have a terrible memory). I know I met other people but can’t recall either their name or their site. Feel free to shoot me an email with your specifics if I neglected you for whatever reason. Off to the link lovin’!

360style.net

Avid and Godfather of 360style.net

These guys go first because I am pretty sure they put a tracking device in my bag so they could find me whenever they wanted. Every time I turned around during the long three day weekend, they were there. I walked in the door to PAX and there was Avid. I show up at a private party on Saturday night and there were Avid and Godfather. I turn around at the final round of the Omegathon and there were Avid and Godfather again! They were both so nice and friendly in person. Avid and I got to play some Guitar Hero together, which was a blast. They are awesome guys with an awesome site. They are always doing neat contests and fun things so if you haven’t discovered their website yet, you should plan a stop there in the near future.

the blue skittle

Ooopy, kiki kat, and KilaMOMjaro of The Blue Skittle

I have known Ooopy since she was forming the idea of The Blue Skittle in her head. We met through arranging challenges for our respective clans. She headed up her side, I headed up my side, and we marched into battle on the rolling fields of Chromehounds on more than one occasion. Ever since I made her acquaintance, I have adored her. I met kilaMOMjaro in a similar fashion, that time being on Halo. Unfortunately I did not know kiki kat until we met on “the couch” (look how exciting that sounds when you put it in quotations!). All three gals are fabulous in person, very comfortable to be around and so down to earth. Their online magazine is beyond phenomenal. If you haven’t checked it out yet, I suggest you hop on over when you have some spare time.

gamertagradio

Godfree and pinksage of GamertagRadio.com

I attended the Blogs and Podcasts panel on Saturday afternoon at PAX and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Godfree sat on that panel and did a fantastic job. What he has done with his online radio show is beyond amazing. I had the pleasure of seeing both Godfree and pinksage at a party one of the nights and they were both so friendly and fun to be around. Godfree thought he recognized me but I assured him it was from the panel earlier in the day. There is no way he would know me from my little ol’ blog. No way! If you haven’t listened to their podcasts, I suggest you hike on over to their site and give any of the episodes a listen. Plus, they have some downloadable content on the Marketplace right now in the form of gamer pictures. Show your support for the community and download them. I know I already have.

360voice.com

Stephen from 360voice.com

I met Stephen at an after hours event and I had the best, most random conversation with him. We discussed exercising and how it relates to video games. I haven’t met somebody that exercises the same way I do so it was a great talk, plus it was highly entertaining. I’m pretty sure I came across as the biggest dork ever but then again, I am the biggest dork ever so it was oddly appropriate. His site is an extremely fun one. You register your gamertag and then your console will blog about your gaming habits. Here is my 360’s blog if you are curious about the specifics. (Stephen, don’t think I didn’t notice my 360’s entry on 08.29.07. You totally ratted me out!) If you don’t have your 360 blogging for you yet, you should go sign up for those services. It’s fun seeing what your 360 says about you.

It was amazing meeting each and every one of you. Thank you for adding to the already awesome PAX experience.

Hey BS Angel it was really cool meeting you! I also it really enjoyed the conversation, it was more fun the jumping around making a fool of myself at Guitar Hero.

I tried sending you a friends request but think your list is full, but stay in touch!

It was great meeting you and “talking” … don’t forget you still owe me $350.00 for your 50 minute session on the “couch”. I hope your issues are all cleared up….

Angel it was so great to finally meet you in person. After I got back I talked to tornado and we both had to agree you were truly a joy. If only we had more time. Next year at Pax you’ll have to get there early enough to be part of kiki’s and mine prepax dinner party.

Oh my goodness! Everybody found me! That is quite exciting.

Well, except for the fact that now I have to pay my bill. I thought I was going to get out of that.

And the pleasure was all mine. : )
