Bling My Thing is a German based company that offers the art of crystal customization on a wide range of accessories (my favorites being various gaming consoles of course). They work exclusively with Swarovski 2028 Xilion Rose crystals, which are considered the finest quality, full-lead crystal made today. Their chief designer, Ayano Kimura, does pure magic with those tiny gems. Her background is positively fascinating. A blurb about her from Bling My Thing’s biography page :

Born in Tokyo , Japan , Ayano has always been creative. As a child, she expressed that creativity in a range of activities, from handicrafts and painting to opera singing and aikido (she has twice been Japan ’s national champion).
Ayano grew up surrounded by beautiful things: her interior-designer mother (who only ever wore haute couture clothes) and entrepreneur father devoted themselves to collecting paintings and sculptures, bringing Ayano up to appreciate beauty and luxury. The family traveled extensively, encouraging Ayano to experience different cultures and nurture her creativity.
Ayano stumbled across my blog one day and noticed my obsession with all things blinged. In previous articles I was not able to display pictures of her work because all of the images on their site are protected (due to other sites stealing them and taking the credit for work which was not theirs). She was kind enough to offer me special pictures I could post here with their logo stamped on them. To say I was excited about that is a little bit of an understatement. To say I jumped around the room shrieking and yelling for approximately 10 minutes would be slightly more accurate.
Her work with these PSPs is astounding. They are by far the best blinged PSPs I have ever laid eyes on. Her designs range from girly girl to flat out freakin’ bad ass. Here are the more spectacular ones for your viewing pleasure. Please don’t drool on them. I don’t want to clean up the mess.

My favorite one is the last one, the skull and crossbones design. How completely and utterly bad ass is that? I would tote that thing around proudly. I would probably find a way to display it on my forehead so people couldn’t miss it. My second favorite is the flower one. It has adorable pink flowers spattered all over it, definitely right up my alley.
If you enjoy looking at the blinged consoles, I highly recommend you stop by Bling My Thing’s Gaming Console Gallery. I have displayed all the PSP images here so you won’t find any more of those, but you will find a wonderful collection of other various consoles and handhelds.
*A very special thank you to Ayano Kimura for providing the images along with the stories on these beautiful consoles. These pictures may not be copied or posted on any other site without Ayano Kimura’s permission.
