From gamerevolution.com :
In what might be the best idea of all time, some bars are phasing out Karaoke in favor of Guitar Hero. Anyone who’s heard me sing knows why this is good.
Across the country, bars have started setting up Guitar Hero nights, from Pianos in New York to the Hyperion Ave Tavern in Los Angeles. Some are just for fun, other’s compete for prizes and (local) fame. At least one tradition has already emerged: the ten-minute-long Freebird is off limits to everyone except the night’s winner.
The Boston Globe also did an article about this subject titled Shreddin the Competition. It was there that I found the best description of a Guitar Hero guitar EVER, guitar-shaped joysticks. I am not sure why I enjoyed that as much as I did, but it literally made me laugh out loud.
You know you are a true Guitar Hero nerd if you immediately went to the list of bars offering these special themed nights and scanned for your state. I know I did! I am saddened to report that there are no bars in my area doing this yet. I will be patient though and hope that it begins to spread. It is certainly a fabulous idea. Rock on, fellow Guitar Heroes.

It souns like an awesome idea to me. I’ve wanted to start up a bar that had games instead of video poker (or sports) for a long time.
I could see it fun, interactive, and much more pleasant for he audiance in some cases.
I should learn to not attempt belting out Nirvana when intoxicated.

Dude, I would love to find a bar in my area doing this. The last LAN I went to, I spent about 90% of my time in the Guitar Hero corner with the rest of my time being spent playing Halo. It’s cause I’m a rockstar. *shrugs
